Chocolate Peanut Butter Sheet Cake | Feeds a Crowd!

Let’s talk CAKE. Chocolate Peanut Butter Sheet Cake to be exact. AKA my latest addiction AKA mommy crack AKA heaven AKA my pants don’t fit anymore.

When I was in San Jose just a few weeks ago, I had one of the tastiest peanut butter pies ever. That is saying a lot because we do a whole lot of peanut butter + chocolate-eating at my house. So I came home dreaming about peanut butter pie. Somewhere along the way, I thought “why not make it in cake form?” so I did.

BEST. DECISION. EVER.

This stuff is seriosuly addictive and the best part about it, is that it can feed a crowd (like most sheet cakes can) which means it’s perfect for sharing!

Main Ingredients Needed

I frankenstein-ed two different recipes together to make this Chocolate Peanut Butter Sheet Cake, but don’t worry you can find all of the nitty-gritty details down below in the recipe card. But for now, here are the basics:

  • Chocolate Cake – you’re going to need a basic chocolate sheet cake recipe. I recommend using my Classic Chocolate Cake recipe but you have a recipe that you’d like to make instead, go for it!
  • Peanut Butter Pie Filling – then the peanut butter ‘frosting’ is actually a peanut butter pie filling I borrowed from this blog! Super yummy stuff!
  • Toppings – and, just because I can, I topped the whole thing with whipped cream, chocolate syrup, and peanuts!

Are you drooling yet?

Hey Lauren! I’ve made this recipe before, and it is so good, but it appears that most of the ingredient list has disappeared! Help!

I made this today for a Christmas party at work. It was fantastic! It was a huge hit and I came home with an empty pan, which made me very happy!

I followed the link to the chocolate cake recipe, and there are places to “click here” for notes on revising recipe for new smaller cake mix size. None of those links work. Do you know what revisions are necessary?

Will definitely try this, sounds awesome! But didn’t your whipped cream melt or doesn’t it last that long lol? I use a sturdy whipped cream frosting with the addition of cream cheese if it’s going to be sitting out for awhile ( for wedding cakes & such) & it seems to work well. I use less or more depending on the situation or how thick I want it ;)…but I am for sure using it on this, my (grown!) sons will love this thank you!

I have a HUGE problem! The link to the peanut butter pie filling does not work. It says fatal error every time I click on it. I’ve gone to the site looking for the recipe and cannot find it. Can you help? This recipe for your cake does not work without it.

That’s a problem with Jennie’s site {In Jennie’s Kitchen}. Sorry about that! The recipe for the peanut butter filling is the same on Shaina’s site here: http://foodformyfamily.com/recipes/peanut-butter-pie-for-mikey-and-jennifer-perillo . Just follow the directions for the pie filling and spread that on your cake. Enjoy!

We started a Sunday dinner tradition recently…each Sunday we invite a different family over for dinner at our house. I know exactly which family is getting this cake/pie for their dessert. AMAZING!
