Bet you were wondering why I was posting random Disney photos on my facebook wall last week, huh. Well, I got the opportunity to attend a food blog forum in Orlando, Florida where I learned a ton, met some amazing new friends, laughed a lot and just had an amazing and inspiring weekend.
The biggest thing I got out of it was that my dreams weren’t big enough. I need to think and dream bigger! {Thanks, Jaden!} So, that’s what I plan to do. {Isn’t that good advice?} It’s amazing what a little persistence, hard work and positive attitude will get you. So, I’ve made some goals for myself and plan on accomplishing every single one! Maybe one day I’ll share them with you.
Ok, I’ll share one with you now: I want to write a cookbook. I don’t know how I’m going to accomplish this, but mark my words, it will be done! Whether it’s in 1 year or 5, I will be a published author. How exciting is that? I know it’s a ton of work, but I’m totally ready for it. Bring it on! {So if you know someone who knows someone, let me know!}
Our amazing hosts for FBFORL were our wonderful friends at Disney! They gave us  incredible service including hotel accommodations, tickets to the park and some seriously amazing and impressive food. The food may have been the best part.
Well, the people were pretty stellar too! I got to meet the beautiful and talented Angie, the fiercely funny Jessica, the sweetest Aggie, my sistah from anotha mista Julie and many more! Of course I got to hang out with some wonderful friends the entire weekend too: Jenny, Paula, Susan, Jaclyn, Julie, Rachel, Krissy, Nikki, Katie and more! {Sorry if I forgot you…}
Here’s how the weekend went:
Friday evening was a welcome reception at the Grand Floridian at Disney World. There was a ton of food including million shrimp and a macaroni and cheese bar. Yup. MACARONI AND CHEESE BAR. Excuse me while I die of pure bliss.
There were a billion zillion desserts too.
The next day was the conference. Halfway through we took a break and ate lunch for 2 hours! Yes, food bloggers need an hour to eat and an hour to snap photos! LOL! There were 12 stations of food plus 3 dessert stations. Basically heaven. Lindsay and Julie loved the food as much as I did
The bottom right saucy lookin’ stuff was roasted corn hummus…totally delicious!! Probably one of my favorites. AND, there was this roasted red pepper pesto spread that was TO DIE FOR.
The two desserts on the left were my favorites: marscapone strawberry cheesecake and chocolate mousse. So so fabulous. After our lunch, we walked back and I snuck a few photos 🙂
This is Jaclyn…she’s basically hilarious. I’m pretty sure we were separated at birth because we finish each other’s sentences.
Hi Jessica and Tina…at least I think that’s Tina…umm…..
Unbeknownst to Jenny, I caught this quick moment.
And I was lucky to get Angie flashing me a smile! Isn’t she gorgeous? I love this photo.
Of course while at Epcot, I stopped by the Canadian Pavillion. I tried to find the beavertails cart, but alas, it was nowhere to be found!
The rest of the afternoon was full of round table discussions and giveaways galore! Brandi made out like a bandit with all this OXO gear! PS- Thank you to all our amazing sponsors! Kitchenaid, OXO, Le Creuset, Land O Lakes, and many more!
At the end of the conference, a group of us got together and had a blast talking, eating, and riding our way through the park.
Over the weekend, we stayed at the Polynesian Resort at Disney. The setting was so gorgeous! I loved the friendly service, the festive rooms and all the activities and restaurants available within just the hotel! It was incredible. I want to go back already!
Disney threw out all the stops and gave us a private fireworks show. HAHA. Just kidding. They do these fireworks EVERY night! Isn’t that insane? But, it certainly makes you feel special. Fireworks do that. Well, Disney World does that too. So both combined is like a happy place central.
Sadly, I flew home Sunday morning. If only I could live there……
This little mouseketeer was very happy to see her momma however! I’m dying to take her to Disney Land in November! Before this trip, Gord and I were toying with the Disney Land trip idea, but once I came back from Florida, that sealed the deal! We’re taking this little girl to see Mickey, Minnie, Belle, Ariel and Cinderella in the Fall! I accidentally let this trip idea slip and now she always is asking me if I’ve emailed Mickey to tell him we’re coming. LOL!
Overall, a wonderful weekend that I won’t soon forget! 🙂
